REDMI WILL RELEASE IT'S FIRST GAMING SMARTPHONE LATER THIS MONTH


 Lu Weibong, President of Xiaomi Group China and CEO of Redmi, posted on the Chinese micro-blogging website Weibo that Redmi will launch its first gaming phone powered with the flagship Dimensity 1200 SoC this month.


In January, MediaTek revealed its flagship Dimensity 1200 SoC, which is manufactured utilizing a 6nm process. Shortly after the announcement, Redmi confirmed that it intends to be one of the first to release a smartphone-based on this platform.


The Dimensity 1200 configuration comprises 8 cores (1 + 3 + 4), the prime one being Cortex-A78, which clocked at 3.0 GHz. Additionally, 3 more Cortex-A78 cores with a frequency of 2.6 GHz and 4 energy-efficient Cortex-A55 cores operating at a frequency of 2.0 GHz. The SoC has received support for MediaTek HyperEngine 3.0 technology, which aims to boost performance in games.


The first Redmi gaming smartphone will equip a Samsung E4 AMOLED flat screen. Lu Weibing heeded that the first tests confirmed the superb performance and energy efficiency of the Dimensity 1200.


The Redmi leader added that Redmi’s first flagship gaming phone will have an incredibly affordable price tag.

Xiaomi was the first company to unveil a flagship with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888 chipset. The brand unveiled the Mi 11 in December alongside MIUI 12.5. Recently, the company has officially announced the new flagship for global markets, alongside the respective version of MIUI made for the worldwide audience. Besides the new software skin and flagship, the company used the chance to reveal details about its progress. Despite the continued pandemic that ravaged the market last year, the brand managed to become the third-largest smartphone brand in the world. Redmi brand also broke some records last year.

According to the brand’s report, it's the top smartphone brand in ten markets, which also includes India as one of the biggest notable ones. Moreover, it achieved a minimum of the third position in 36 markets. The Chinese giant is also the fastest-growing brand within the high-end segment with an amazing 3,639% growth year on year in Q3 2020. This includes devices that cost over $500.


XIAOMI INVESTED IN THE R&D DEPARTMENT AND IMPROVED ITS MANUFACTURING PROCESS

Between the last quarter of 2019 and Q3 2020, Xiaomi invested over $1.3 billion within the R&D department. As a result, 2,143 camera tests that accustomed take 3 to 4 days are fully automated. Nowadays, the brand is capable of testing its cameras in mere one day. The brand also improved its cameras and software. The Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro, as an example, kept the top place at the DxOMark camera ranking for 48 days. The Mi 10 Ultra was on top for nearly a quarter. The Mi 11 also performed well within the camera benchmark website. The audio lab is also doing equally successfully. The Mi 10 Pro was the best phone within the DxO Audio tests for many of 2020. The brand also has more labs for the development of 5G, displays and one that improves the phone’s overall stability.

    1. No, Xiaomi's gaming phone brand is 'BLACK SHARK'. POCO is a sub-brand of xiaomi that focus on ultra affordable phone. & Redmi is aslo a sub-brand but independent from Xiaomi.
