At today’s Xiaomi spring launch conference, the brand officially unveiled three smartphones, the Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite, Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro, and the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra. This post is all about Mi 11 Pro which comes with significant upgrades over the vanilla Mi11 that was announced back in December. let's look at Mi 11 Pro’s specifications, features, availability, and pricing.

The Mi 11 Pro isn’t the thinnest of phones out there but Xiaomi manages to keep the width under 9mm and the weight around 208 grams even when packing a massive 5000mAh battery.

Talking about the design, the device looks identical to the non-Pro Mi 11. The device has a curved display and a curved rear made of glass too. It retains the camera module design of the Mi 11. There are three colors available for this device including Black, Green & Purple that has a frosted finish.

The Mi 11 Pro features a 6.81-inch curved Samsung E4 AMOLED display with (1440 x 3216 pixels) Quad HD+ 525 PPI, 20:9 aspect ratio & support for a 120Hz refresh rate. The 10-bit panel also supports Dolby Vision, a first for a Xiaomi phone. Other features include an SGS display protection certification, 360Hz Touch sampling rate, a peak brightness of 1700 nits, Gorilla Glass Victus for protection, and a Display Mate A+ certification. It also has an HDR10+certification. Xiaomi says it has also implemented an antibacterial quad-curved screen protector, so you don’t need to get one. You also receive an antibacterial case in the box.

The Snapdragon 888 chipset is powering the Mi 11 Pro and it is utilized up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 flash storage. There is a phase-changing liquid cooling system that helps to keep the device & the SoC cool. Xiaomi claims that in their test, after 30 minutes of playing Genshin Impact, the rear surface temperature was 49.3° celsius.

Just like the regular version, you get Harmon Kardon dual stereo speakers. There is also NFC, an IR blaster, Wi-Fi 6E, and an official IP68 rating which is also a first for a Xiaomi phone. The Mi 11 Pro runs MIUI 12.5 on top of Android 11 out of the box.

Coming to the battery, the smartphone features a 5000mAh capacity battery with the support for 67W wired and wireless fast charging & 10W reverse wireless charging. the battery comes with new tech for a thinner design.  Regardless of the one you choose to go with, you will be able to charge the phone from zero to 100 in just 36 minutes.

The camera department is one of the major upgrades over the vanilla Mi 11. For the Pro’s primary rear camera, Xiaomi has utilized the 50MP Samsung ISOCELL GN2 sensor with a 1/1.12″ sensor size, the largest camera sensor in a smartphone to date. The 50MP Samsung GN2 image sensor comes with 61 degrees field of view with a very sharp focus thanks to dToF technology that features a 64 point laser array focus system. It is also the first camera with a Dual Pixel Pro and has Dual Native ISO Fusion support. The camera also features Stagger HDR, an f/1.95 aperture, OIS, EIS, and an 8P lens.

Below it is an 8MP f/2.4 periscope zoom camera with OIS and up to 5x optical zoom, 50x digital zoom, and a focal length of 120mm. The third shooter is a 123° 13MP f/2.4 ultra-wide-angle camera with a 5P lens like the telephoto camera. A dual-tone LED flash sits alongside the camera housing.

The phone can record in 8K at 30 fps and can also record slow-motion videos at 1920 fps.
