XIAOMI MI 11 PRO WILL FEATURE THE LARGEST SMARTPHONE CAMERA SENSOR

A well-known network leak star, under the nickname 'Ice Universe': who frequently shares exclusive information about the latest advancements in the tech industry, stated that Samsung ISOCELL GN2 will be the biggest mobile image sensor of this year.

He also added that the Samsung ISOCELL GN2 will give“an unparalleled experience” and will launch later this month in Xiaomi‘s new flagship smartphone. Certainly, we are talking about the Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro, which should be launched on March 30.

This report appears particularly interesting since Samsung’s 50MP ISOCELL GN2 sensor has a 1/1.12-inch optical format. At the same time, rumors revealed that the custom-made Sony IMX800 image sensor should debut in the Huawei P50, which will be the world’s first mobile optical format inch sensor. However, today it became clear that it's optical size will be 1/1.18 inches

.Certainly, the Samsung ISOCELL GN2 image sensor will be the biggest mobile sensor at the time of the Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro launch event at the end of the month, but Sony's custom-made IMX800 in the Huawei P50 should be even larger. The launch event of the Huawei P50 is anticipated in May this year.

Ice Universe precisely predicted the announcement of the Samsung ISOCELL GN1 image sensor, which was revealed a few days later. In addition, he predicted the rise of smartphones with “waterfall display”; like the Vivo Nex 3, Huawei P40 series, and the announcement of the Xiaomi Mi Mix Alpha with a wraparound screen.

It is worth considering that yesterday, it was leaked that the Mi 11 Pro smartphone will launch on March 30. This date surfaces on the official poster published by the Chinese leak star.

The render of the smartphone on the poster confirms the main highlight of the device – its unique rear camera setup. More specifically, it is not so much the camera itself that is unique as the rear setup; which also includes an additional display. The periscope camera is also clearly visible, which will give 120x zoom. The main camera of the Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro will utilize a 50-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL GN2 1/1.12 inch optical format sensor; the biggest sensor in the industry (though it is probable that Huawei P50 will have an even larger sensor). The resolution of the other two cameras is 48 megapixels.

The rest of the model’s parameters are on the top-notch. It will have a 2K + AMOLED screen with a frame rate of 120 Hz, Snapdragon 888 SoC; and support for wire & wireless fast charging with a power of 67 Watt.
