Like we may already know, this Xiaomi spring event is pretty big and announce a lot of devices. In addition to the Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro and Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra, the brand also launched the Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite (Youth Edition in China). The highlight of this handset is that it features the Qualcomm Snapdragon 780G chipset. This device will be the most affordable smartphone in the entire Xiaomi Mi 11 family. It is also the thinnest and lightest smartphone in Xiaomi’s history.

This handset also has more color options than any other device in the Xiaomi Mi 11 lineup. The Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite is available in six color options including pink, sky blue, light green, black, grey, and yellow. The thickness of this device is only 6.81 mm and weighs around 159g. This means that it is 15.5% slimmer and 37g lighter than the vanilla Xiaomi Mi 11. Moreover, it utilizes a dual 2.5D glass design, much like a flagship smartphone.

This device utilizes a 6.55-inch  AMOLED display with a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels. Like most other recent flagships, it utilizes a punch-hole display. The punch-hole sits at the upper left corner of the display. Though the Mi 11 Lite doesn't have a fancy 120Hz refresh rate supported panel, it utilizes 90Hz refresh rate which is not bad. Users of this device will get good assurance with the Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection that it has. Other features of this display include 240Hz touch sampling rate, 8000 nits maximum brightness, and 5000000:1 contrast ratio as well as Dolby Vision. This panel also supports a 100% DCI-P3 color gamut. Furthermore, the ultimate narrow bezel design of this device is added an attractive aspect and the bezel is 1.88 mm thin on all sides but the chin is 2.75 mm thick. Despite the thin bezels, this handset also comes with powerful dual stereo speakers.

In terms of rear design, you'll see the triple-camera module on the rear housing. The module also houses the dual-tone LED flash. The main camera is a 64MP shooter as well as an 8MP  wide-angle lens and a 5MP tele-macro sensor. On the front, there is a 20 MP camera on the front side for selfies, just like the rest of the series. This front camera gives a natural beauty selfie, fixes small flaws, and maintains the original beauty. It also supports super night scene mode that makes people more stunning in the dark. Also, it fixes pale skin tones, suits different skin tones to preset 8 skin tones. It additionally supports a 2x zoom selfie, the length is just right with good details.

Like we said earlier, the Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite is the first smartphone powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 780G chipset. On AnTuTu’s benchmark database (Version 9), the score of this handset exceeds 560,000 points. Mi 11 Lite runs on Android 11 based on MIUI 12.5 out of the box.

An interesting fact about the Snapdragon 780G is that it is not a higher mid-range SoC as we will expect from the “7xx” series SoC. It uses the same 5nm process, A78 CPU core architecture, and ISP (image signal processor) as the flagship Snapdragon 888.  This chipset also utilizes the same sixth-generation Qualcomm AI engine as  SD888, with a computing power of up to 12 TOPS.

Under the hood, this smartphone features a built-in 4250 mAh large battery which will be fast-charged at 33W thanks to the MI-FC fast charging technology. It also uses a floating heat pipe liquid cooling system to guarantee continuous performance output.
Other features comprise an in-display fingerprint scanner,  Hi-Res audio, dual stereo speaker, dual 5G SIM support, and Wi-Fi 6. It additionally supports Bluetooth 5.1, dual-frequency GPS, NFC, IR blaster for remote control, X-axis linear vibration motor.
